专题简介 (Session Description):

Operational space weather monitoring has provided important basis for space weather forecast. In the past decades, space weather monitoring has been greatly developed in China, including ground-based and space-based monitoring, such as the FengYun series satellites, the Meridian Space Weather Monitoring Project, etc. As the development of operational space weather forecast, comprehensive and stereo monitoring of the space weather causal chain is essential. Establishing a complete space weather observation system is imperative. Multiple observations instruments, including optical remote sensing sounders, in situ particle and magnetic detectors are to be improved in the future. This session will mainly focus on: (1) requirements for operational space weather monitoring; (2) the current situation of space weather monitoring and its future development; and (3) new technology platforms for space weather monitoring, especially for the Sun, the interplanetary space, the magnetosphere, the ionosphere, and the geomagnetic environment.
